Berkshire Hathaway Finalizes $6.8 B Purchase of Homebuilder Taylor Morrison
Berkshire Hathaway announced the completion of its cash acquisition of Taylor Morrison Home Corp., paying $72.50 per share for an equity value of about $6.8 billion and an enterprise value of roughly $8.5 billion. The Arizona‑based builder will remain led by CEO Sheryl Palmer, who will oversee integration of Taylor Morrison’s brands—Esplanade, Yardly and Taylor Morrison Home Funding—into Berkshire’s Clayton Properties Group, a collection of 15 regional site‑built homebuilders.
The combined entity, which also includes Berkshire’s factory‑built arm Clayton Homes, delivered nearly 23,000 site‑built home closings in 2025, operates in 21 states across 52 housing markets and serves more than 700 communities, positioning it as the fourth‑largest homebuilding operation in the United States. Greg Abel, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, said the deal will expand the company’s scale and reach, while Palmer highlighted the transformative impact of the unified platform.
