Berlin administration suffers major cyberattack amid new security pacts

A significant cyberattack on the Berlin Senate administration has compromised 5.8 terabytes of data. The breach includes sensitive information regarding critical infrastructure, crisis response plans, and data related to defense companies and Bundeswehr locations, alongside the personal data of thousands of citizens.

In response to evolving security threats, the German state of Baden-Württemberg has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior. Interior Minister Manuel Hagel announced that the partnership will focus on exchanging expertise in counter-espionage, cybercrime, and drone defense, leveraging Ukraine's extensive experience in these areas.

Separately, experts emphasize that data center resilience requires more than just digital firewalls. Comprehensive security must include physical protections, such as perimeter monitoring, biometric access controls, and redundant cooling systems to prevent both malicious attacks and infrastructure failures.
