Berlin and Munich house fires under control, no casualties

In Berlin, a residential house on Neuen Späthstraße caught fire near the A113 highway shortly after 02:25 am. Firefighters used multiple water‑tender trucks, a water cannon and a ladder to bring the blaze under control by 05:47 am. The building was empty, no one was injured and the police have opened an arson investigation.

In Munich’s Trudering district, a garage on Dukatenweg erupted into a full‑scale fire on a public holiday. The adjacent residential house was protected by a rapid two‑pronged attack with hoses and a turntable ladder, preventing the flames from spreading to the roof. About 35 firefighters declared the fire extinguished after roughly an hour; the resident escaped unharmed and the police are also probing the cause.

Both incidents caused significant property damage but resulted in no injuries, and authorities in each city are investigating possible arson.
