Berlin and Thiendorf face major traffic and rail disruptions
Significant traffic and public transport disruptions are expected in the Berlin region due to various construction projects.
On the A113 motorway leading to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), full closures are scheduled between the Späthstraße and Schönefeld-Nord junctions during the nights of October 12 and 13. These maintenance works in the Rudower Höhe and Alt-Glienicke tunnels will occur from 21:00 to 05:00. Consequently, several Airport Express (FEX) train services between BER and Berlin Hauptbahnhof will be canceled, and RB24 services will face reductions.
In Thiendorf, the A13 motorway ramp toward Berlin is expected to be closed from October 19 to November 6, 2026, for asphalt work and junction renewals. Additionally, local roadwork on the Straße zum Großteich is planned from September 14 to December 15, 2026, involving water supply and broadband line installations.
Other notable disruptions in northern Berlin include a complete intersection closure in Niederschönhausen until October 30, with additional traffic bottlenecks reported in Wedding, Weißensee, Marzahn, and Mitte.
