Bernau: Construction worker killed by falling container

A 56-year-old construction worker died on Monday morning following a fatal accident at a construction site in Bernau bei Berlin, Brandenburg.

A heavy construction container fell from a height of approximately four meters, striking the man while he was positioned underneath it. Emergency services arrived at the scene on Sonnenallee, but the worker died at the site.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident to reconstruct the sequence of events. Investigators are also examining whether safety regulations were violated or if other negligence contributed to the death. The accident occurred at a site where a large residential complex consisting of five apartment buildings and 117 units is currently under construction.
