Besançon police arrest man with stolen Swiss bicycle
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the Besançon Viotte station after being identified as a suspect in a bicycle theft originating in Switzerland. Swiss authorities alerted French police that the individual was traveling on a train destined for Besançon with a high-value bicycle worth approximately 3,400 Swiss francs (nearly 3,600 euros).
The theft occurred in Le Locle on the morning of August 31. Upon his arrest, the suspect denied involvement, claiming he was merely transporting the bicycle for an acquaintance met on the train. Following his custody, the man was released and is scheduled to appear in court for a penal order in November.
