Bethlehem Kudumba Unit reaches ₹273 crore worldwide gross

The film ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, has achieved significant commercial success in Kerala and internationally, nearing a worldwide gross of ₹300 crore. As of its 18th day of release, the film has recorded a worldwide gross of approximately ₹273 crore, making it the second highest-grossing film in Mollywood history.

Despite its massive success in Malayalam-speaking regions, the film has struggled in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Telugu version, released in its third week, saw weak collections, reportedly totaling around ₹2.5 crore gross in its first four days. Factors contributing to the poor performance in these regions include a limited initial release of the Malayalam version, a release strategy that excluded major cinema chains due to OTT window policies, and a title that failed to generate interest among Telugu audiences.

In the Telugu market, the distributor Mythri Movie Makers reportedly secured a deal covering only print, publicity, and a 10% commission, mitigating potential losses from the underwhelming box office performance.
