Bethlehem Kudumba Unit receives mixed reviews upon release

The Malayalam romantic comedy ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’, directed by Girish A D, has received mixed reactions following its theatrical release during the Onam season. While some viewers have praised the film as a ‘simple’ and ‘refreshing’ entertainer, others have criticized the screenplay, dialogues, and direction.

Starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, the film explores a dynamic between a Gen Z woman and a millennial man. Actor Fahadh Faasil has expressed support for the project, stating that the character of Justin appears ‘tailor-made’ for Pauly.

The film, produced by Bhavana Studios, enters a competitive box-office period, facing competition from Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Khalifa: The Intro’. Despite being a smaller production, the movie has generated significant anticipation due to the director’s previous success with ‘Premalu’ and the lead actors' pairing.
