Betty Bromage breaks wing walking world record at 97

Betty Bromage has broken her own Guinness World Record as the oldest woman to perform wing walking. At 97 years old, the British woman from Cheltenham completed the feat on August 4 by attaching herself to the exterior of a light aircraft during a flight.

To validate the record, Bromage remained attached for at least five minutes, including takeoff and landing. This achievement marks her second time setting this specific record. Despite having previously suffered a stroke that affected her speech, she stated her motivation was to continue pursuing her dreams and avoid boredom due to age-related limitations like declining vision and inability to drive.

Bromage used the event to raise funds for Cheltenham General Hospital, the institution where she received care for medical complications a year ago. She noted that she does not feel nervous about the activity and expressed interest in attempting the feat again in the future.
