Beyşehir launches digital health project for remote patient assessment

Beyşehir State Hospital and the Beyşehir Union of Mukhtars Association have launched a new digital health initiative titled ‘Hand in Hand with Our Mukhtars, Digital Hospital in Your Home’. The project aims to improve healthcare access for bedridden patients and individuals who face difficulties traveling to medical facilities.

Under the new system, local mukhtars (neighborhood heads) will play an active role in identifying patients in need. The mukhtar will visit the patient's home to facilitate a video consultation via the Remote Patient Assessment System, connecting the patient with specialist doctors at the hospital. Following these remote evaluations, physicians will make medical decisions, issue necessary reports, and manage treatment processes.

Dr. İbrahim Fuat Kayıhan Kaya, the hospital's Home Health Services physician, noted that while home health services have reached approximately 750 patients over the last four years, the district's 68 neighborhoods and remote locations make rapid response challenging. This digital collaboration is intended to bridge those geographic gaps.
