Istanbul authorities discover bodies following reports of foul odors

A series of suspicious deaths have been reported in Istanbul following neighbor complaints regarding strong odors emanating from residential buildings.

In the Beyoğlu district, specifically in the Hacıahmet neighborhood, authorities discovered the body of 57-year-old Selim Bağda. Responding to reports of a foul smell, police and firefighters entered the apartment where Bağda was found unresponsive on a sofa. Preliminary investigations indicated no signs of physical assault or wounds from sharp objects. His body has been sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

In a separate incident in the Gaziosmanpaşa district, police discovered the body of an Azerbaijani national, Rövşen Zeynalow. Following reports of a bad smell, authorities entered the residence and found Zeynalow deceased. Investigators noted that Zeynalow's sister, who reportedly suffers from psychological issues, had been living in the same apartment with the deceased for approximately one week. Traces of blood were observed at the scene, and an investigation into the suspicious circumstances is ongoing.
