Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland support Houston community housing and maternal health

Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Tina Knowles have returned to their hometown of Houston to support community initiatives. The group recently celebrated the opening of the Knowles-Rowland House, a 31-unit permanent supportive housing development designed for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.

The project, which transformed the former Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth, provides residents with access to counseling and mental health assistance through the organization Bread of Life. The site previously required reconstruction following damage from Hurricane Harvey and a subsequent fire.

In addition to the housing project, Tina Knowles and Kelly Rowland are partnering with birthFUND founder Elaine Welteroth for the inaugural Third Ward Mile on November 28. Serving as team captains for the nonprofit community walk, they aim to raise funds and awareness for the Black maternal health crisis in the Third Ward neighborhood.
