BEYOND BORDERs releases second Hatsune Miku collaboration single ‘Light’

The Japan-US music collaboration project ‘BEYOND BORDERs’ has released its second single, ‘Light’. The track features Philadelphia-based rapper and producer slayr, the musical unit XAMIYA (comprising KAMIYA and XANSEI), and Vocaloid producer picco. The song blends drum and bass elements with underground rap and electronic music, utilizing Hatsune Miku as the main vocalist.

This project is part of an initiative by Dwango, supported by the Japan Creator Support Fund, to help young Japanese Vocaloid producers expand into international markets. The project involves co-writing with US-based producers and utilizes Los Angeles-based music venture Nebula17 for A&R and marketing in the United States.

A collaboration EP titled ‘EMERGE M♡DE MIKU’, which includes ‘Light’, is scheduled for release on September 25, 2026. The EP will feature a variety of international and domestic artists, including Grimes, MOLIY, Odetari, George Clanton, Frost Children, jon-YAKITORY, and SatapanP.
