Dwango BEYOND BORDERs music project

Overview

Dwango has initiated ‘BEYOND BORDERs’, a Japanese-American music project aimed at promoting Vocaloid culture globally by connecting Japanese creators with Western artists. Supported by the Japan Creator Support Fund and the Los Angeles-based venture Nebula17, the project facilitates international expansion for young Japanese Vocaloid producers through co-writing and US-based marketing.

The project debuted with the single ‘Miku-Maxxing’, a collaboration between producer SatapanP and Canadian artist Grimes featuring Hatsune Miku. This was followed by the release of a second single, ‘Light’, which features Philadelphia-based artist slayr, the musical unit XAMIYA, and producer picco.

These releases are part of the upcoming collaborative EP ‘EMERGE M♡DE MIKU’, scheduled for release on September 25, 2026, featuring an international lineup of artists including Odetari, George Clanton, Frost Children, and jon-YAKITORY.
