Bhagalpur: Three girls drown in river in Bihar

Three girls drowned in a river in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar on Friday while bathing at Margang Ghat. The incident occurred during the Raksha Bandhan festival when the girls were reportedly swept away by strong currents.

Local reports identify the deceased as Monali Kumari (17), Chanda Kumari (16), and eight-year-old Abhilasha Kumari. While villagers and local residents assisted in the initial search and recovery, the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) also participated in the operation. Authorities confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
