Bhopal and Hyderabad announce traffic diversions for Durga idol immersion
Major traffic diversions and restrictions have been implemented in Bhopal and Hyderabad to facilitate Durga Matha idol immersion processions.
In Bhopal, heavy vehicles are prohibited from entering several areas, including Khajuri Road, Lalghati, and the Airport. The main procession is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM, traveling from Bharat Talkies through various landmarks such as Itwara Chauraha and Mangalwara before reaching Kamlapati Ghat. Specific diversions will affect city buses and four-wheelers in the old city areas starting from 5:00 PM.
In Hyderabad, the Traffic Police have issued an advisory effective from 3:00 PM on October 21 until 6:00 AM on October 24. Restrictions are centered around Khairatabad, Saifabad, Necklace Road, and Tank Bund. Key junctions such as the VV Statue, Old Saifabad Police Station, and Telangana Thalli Flyover will see regulated movement, with certain routes reserved exclusively for vehicles carrying idols. Commuters are advised to avoid areas including Ravindra Bharathi and the BJR Statue Circle to avoid congestion.
