Bhubaneswar airport seizure of hydroponic marijuana worth ₹2 crore

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Customs officials seized approximately 5.29 kg of hydroponic marijuana at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. The contraband, valued at between ₹1.85 crore and ₹2 crore, was reportedly being smuggled from Bangkok.

During a targeted inspection of passengers arriving from Bangkok, officials discovered the drugs concealed in secret compartments within checked luggage. Additionally, a K-9 sniffer dog assisted in detecting narcotics hidden inside a tin container labeled as dog food. Four individuals have been detained in connection with the seizure as authorities investigate the international trafficking network involved.
