The contraband, arriving from Bangkok, was found in secret compartments in checked luggage and inside a tin container labeled as dog food. Regarding cultivation, authorities have intensified efforts to destroy illegal crops. In Gujarat, the Sabarkantha Local Crime Branch seized 967 cannabis plants valued at over 1.72 crore rupees, which were being grown under the guise of a cotton crop. In Vapi, police seized 243.67 kg of a cannabis-based substance valued at approximately Rs 1.21 crore during a residential raid, leading to the arrest of Kartik, also known as ‘Pappu Biswal’. Large-scale operations continue in Madhya Pradesh. In Neemuch, police used drone surveillance to locate 51,000 cannabis plants valued at roughly Rs 2.79 crore. In Dhar district, under ‘Operation Prahaar’, authorities uncovered 1,809 plants valued at approximately Rs 3.1 crore. In Khargone, police seized 82 plants hidden within cotton and chili crops, valued at approximately Rs 20 lakh.
