Bhutanese museum professionals hold cultural heritage exchange
Twenty-five museum and cultural heritage professionals from Bhutan and the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art in New York participated in a three-day knowledge exchange program in Bumthang. Held at the Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Centre, the workshop focused on strengthening curatorial stewardship, collection management, preservation, and the presentation of cultural objects.
The program, organized by the Museum Division under the Department of Culture and Dzongkha Development, aimed to improve how Bhutanese institutions manage and interpret their collections for contemporary audiences and future generations. Participants discussed local challenges and shared experiences regarding the documentation and display of artifacts to ensure they remain accessible and meaningful to visitors.
