Białystok announces results for 2027 participatory budget
Białystok has released the results for its 2027 participatory budget voting process. Out of 72 submitted projects, 33 have been selected for implementation following a vote involving 30,181 ballots.
The top-voted project, receiving 5,195 votes, is the ‘School of the Future - development, therapy, and relaxation zone’ at Primary School No. 37. This was closely followed by the ‘Bicycle connectors, whole city, new facilities’ project, which secured 5,056 votes.
Other winning initiatives include the ‘Green Kościuszko Market’ and the construction of a football and athletics complex at School and Kindergarten Complex No. 5. Due to the high cost of the two selected school projects—estimated at 1.5 million PLN each—the entire 3 million PLN school category fund was exhausted.
In contrast, the city-wide category saw 23 projects selected from 31 proposals. Deputy Mayor Rafał Rudnicki noted that because many city-wide proposals cost less than 500,000 PLN, the 8 million PLN pool allowed for a higher number of successful projects in that category.
