BIDV warns customers of fraudulent SMS phishing scams

BIDV has issued an urgent warning to its customers regarding fraudulent SMS messages designed to steal personal information and assets. Scammers are using the bank's brand name to send messages about credit card reward points, promotions, or refunds, prompting users to click on malicious links.

These fake links direct users to fraudulent websites intended to capture card details and electronic banking security credentials. The bank clarified that BIDV does not send SMS messages containing links. Customers are advised to remain vigilant against tactics involving account verification, membership card cancellations, or small-value transactions used to build trust before larger thefts occur. BIDV urges customers never to click on unknown links or provide OTPs, account information, or security data to anyone.
