Polish retailers launch major grocery and seasonal promotions

Major Polish retail chains are implementing aggressive promotional strategies and adjusting to shifting market trends.

Biedronka has launched extensive multi-buy discounts and price reductions on various goods, including coffee, dairy, vegetables like sweet potatoes and Hokkaido pumpkin, and seasonal items such as candles and votives for All Saints' Day. Many of these offers require the use of the Moja Biedronka loyalty card or app.

Lidl is addressing changing consumer habits and regulatory shifts by extending the validity of deposit return vouchers to 100 days starting October 1. Additionally, Lidl has seen high demand for promotional butter, leading to rapid stock depletion as consumers react to rising average butter prices, which rose by approximately 13 percent in September.

Other retailers are also competing on price. Dino has significantly reduced the cost of Polish apples and bananas, while Kaufland, Carrefour, and Auchan have begun early sales on seasonal items like candles and votives to capture market share ahead of November 1.
