Biedronka opens new distribution centre in Sokołow Małopolski, adds 500 jobs

Poland’s leading discount retailer Biedronka will launch a new logistics hub in Sokołow Małopolski, about 28 km from Rzeszów, with operations slated for early July 2026. The 490,000‑square‑metre facility, the company’s 18th warehouse in the country, will use LED lighting, CO₂‑based refrigeration and photovoltaic installations and is expected to create 500 new jobs.

The development follows a similar expansion by the Dutch discounter Action, which recently opened its fourth Polish warehouse in Dunikowo near Szczecin, employing around 400 staff. Action will also open a new retail outlet on Smoluchowskiego Street in Lublin on 25 June, with a nearby Biedronka store scheduled to open on 30 June, adding further retail capacity in the region.
