Polish retail park expansion and upgrades

Overview

Retail and logistics developments continued to expand across Poland in late August and early September 2026. BIG Poland officially rebranded and opened its new shopping park in Grodzisk Mazowiecki on August 29. Formerly known as Grodzisk Sfera Park, the 11,000-square-meter facility hosts 19 shops and service points, including Biedronka, Sinsay, Rossmann, and JYSK.

In Siemianowice Śląskie, the OTO Park has officially opened on the site of the former Huta Jedność steelworks, providing over 20,000 square meters of leasable space. Other regional activities include the construction of the 5.84-hectare DL Invest Park Kielce, the progress of Scallier’s 5,000-square-meter retail park in Bolesławiec, and the expansion of the Plejada Shopping Center in Sosnowiec.

Newer developments are gaining momentum. In Opole, NEPI Rockcastle has commenced a 100 million PLN expansion of the Karolinka Shopping Center. Managed by general contractor Adamietz, the project will add over 8,000 square meters of gross leasable area to accommodate roughly 30 new outlets while modernizing the main facade. In Ruda Śląska-Kochłowice, investor Merkury and manager Scallier are developing a 6,580-square-meter retail park near the A4 motorway, slated for a spring 2028 opening.

In Środa Wielkopolska, Refield and RGL are advancing a retail park project covering approximately 18,000 square meters of gross leasable area. Lidl has signed as a key tenant in an independent building at the entrance, and agreements have been secured with Pepco and Sinsay for 3,500 square meters. Investors aim for 80 percent commercialization by the end of 2026, with construction expected to begin in early 2027.
