Bielsko-Biała helmet safety campaign draws families to free events

The summer road‑safety action “Helmet is not optional – you have only one head” organised by Radio BIELSKO and the Bielsko‑Biała Rescue Service held two free public events. On July 11 participants gathered at the Panorama swimming pool in Bielsko‑Biała, and on July 12 a final took place on Kozia Góra with activities from 14:00 to 18:00.

The program offered obstacle courses, games and contests for children and adults, with tickets entered into a draw for a total of 100 helmets. Police traffic officers and rescue workers demonstrated safety equipment, explained proper helmet fitting and gave advice on safe riding of bicycles, e‑scooters, roller skates and skateboards. Organisers stressed that helmets protect users of all ages, noting an increase in injuries from falls on such devices.

The events were open to all families, featured a playground, music and a “Head Quest” outdoor game, and aimed to raise awareness of head‑injury prevention during the holiday period.
