Bienal de São Paulo strengthens partnership with Rio Preto

The 36th Bienal de São Paulo will continue its partnership with Rio Preto, including the city in its itinerant program. The exhibition, themed ‘Nem todo viandante anda estradas – Da humanidade como prática’, is scheduled to run at Sesc Rio Preto from August 19 to November 15.

This collaboration aims to expand access to contemporary art and pedagogical discussions for audiences in the interior of São Paulo. The relationship between the city and the Bienal is long-standing, with Rio Preto having hosted itinerant works since 2012.

The city also maintains a historical connection to the Bienal through artist José Antônio da Silva, who participated in the first Bienal International in 1951. His legacy is preserved at the Museu de Arte Primitivista José Antônio da Silva.
