Bieszczady mountain rescuers report surge in tourist emergencies
Rescue workers in the Bieszczady Mountains experienced a highly active week due to a surge in tourist incidents. Interventions included treating chest pains, loss of consciousness, bicycle accidents, and horse riding injuries.
Notable incidents involved an 11-year-old boy who required helicopter transport after losing consciousness at Przełęcz Wyżna, and a female hiker who suffered a broken leg on the trail from Wołosate to Tarnica. Other emergencies included a woman with a leg injury near Bukowe Berdo and a horse riding accident in Wołosate. Rescuers have advised travelers to remain cautious and properly prepared for mountain hikes.
