Big Tex Gets New Western Outfit for 2026 State Fair of Texas

The State Fair of Texas announced that its 55‑foot mascot, Big Tex, will debut a new wardrobe at the 2026 fair. Texas‑based Cavender's Boot City will provide a custom Western shirt, while Resistol of Garland will supply a new 95‑gallon cowboy hat.

Jennifer Schuder, senior vice president of customer engagement for the fair, said, "Big Tex has long represented the spirit, hospitality, and traditions that make Texas unique." The updated look will be on display when the fair runs from September 25 to October 18, 2026, at Fair Park in Dallas.

The change follows the end of a decade‑long partnership with Dickies, which had dressed Big Tex since 1997.
