Bihać region holds commemorations for war veterans and fallen defenders

Commemorative events were held in the Bihać region of Bosnia and Herzegovina to honor defenders from the country's war. In the local community of Izačić, the 34th annual ‘Izačiću, ponosan mi budi’ manifestation took place, remembering 88 residents who lost their lives. The ceremony included the placement of empty chairs to symbolically represent the fallen, as well as visits to memorial rooms and local religious sites.

In Bužim, the 34th anniversary of the 505th Knightly Brigade was marked during the ‘Slobodarski dani viteškog grada Bužima 2026’ event. Denis Bećirović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attended the ceremony to pay respects to the late General Izet Nanić, the brigade's commander, and other fallen soldiers. The commemorations included laying flowers at the tomb of General Nanić and reciting prayers to honor his contributions to the defense of the country.
