Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary announces major development projects and meets Union ministers

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced plans to restart the closed sugar mill in Motihari and has launched 145 development schemes worth Rs 285 crore for the East Champaran district. These projects include the construction of a medical college in Bariyarpur, a planetarium in Motihari, an 'Atal Kala Bhavan' for art and culture, and a fisheries prosperity cluster with a fish processing plant.

Infrastructure improvements include a 'Marine Drive' road and drainage network along the banks of Motijheel and the widening of roads leading to the Areraj Temple. Choudhary stated that the state government aims to provide employment to one crore people by 2030.

In a separate administrative move, the Chief Minister traveled to Delhi to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil. Discussions are expected to focus on law and order, center-state coordination for infrastructure, and critical water management issues, including flood control and irrigation to address recurring flooding in Bihar.
