Bihar Police Clash with Students During NEET Paper Leak Protests in Patna

Students across Bihar staged large protests against an alleged NEET examination paper leak, with the main demonstration taking place in Patna. Police responded by breaking barricades, deploying tear‑gas shells, batons and additional forces, leading to injuries among both officers and protesters. The state’s Western Patna SP, Saket Kumar, was recorded urging his subordinates to push back, saying they would not tolerate retreat, a clip that quickly went viral.

A second video from the same protests showed students joking with a policeman, saying they were “bored of the lathi” and asking him to bring an AK‑47. The lighter‑hearted exchange was widely shared online, though the underlying unrest continued. Authorities secured the Bihar Legislative Assembly and the Chief Minister’s residence, and deployed extra police and paramilitary units to contain the demonstrations.
