Bihar Police Sub‑Inspector Recruitment 2026 opens applications for 150 posts
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has issued a recruitment notification for 150 Sub‑Inspector (SI) vacancies across the state. Applications are accepted online from 9 July to 9 August 2026. Eligible candidates must meet the age and educational criteria specified by the commission and will be appointed on a permanent basis with a salary range of ₹35,400–₹1,12,400.
The selection process comprises a Preliminary objective exam, a Main written test (objective and descriptive papers), a Physical Efficiency Test, and subsequent document verification and medical examination. The prelims cover English, General Knowledge, Hindi, Reasoning, and Current Affairs (100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours). The mains include Objective (200 marks, 3 hours) and Descriptive (50 marks, 1 hour) papers. Negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer applies in objective sections, and a minimum of 30 % is required to qualify at each stage.
Candidates must prepare across subjects such as General Knowledge, History, Geography, Polity, Economics, Science, Mathematics, and language skills in both Hindi and English. Detailed syllabus and exam pattern information are provided by BPSSC to guide aspirants.
