Bihar police transfers 22 DSP officers in major reshuffle
The Bihar government issued a notification on 14 July 2026 transferring 22 officers of the State Police Service at the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank. The reshuffle assigned the officers to new duties across a range of units, including Sub‑Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) posts, the cyber‑crime and security cell, the Special Task Force (STF), the Crime Investigation Department (CID), the Anti‑Terrorist Squad (ATS) and traffic policing.
The transfers moved several officers to field postings and shifted others between districts. Examples include Ajit Kumar posted as SDPO‑1 in Danapur (Patna), Ramesh Kumar as SDPO of Ramnagar (Bagaha), Prashant Kumar as Senior Police Inspector of the STF in Patna, and Ragini Kumari as Police Inspector of the ATS in Patna. Additional postings placed officers in locations such as Gopalganj, Nalanda, Rohtas, Begusarai, Madhubani, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, and other districts, aiming to improve administrative efficiency and operational effectiveness.
