Bihar: Six children drown in separate river incidents
Six children drowned in two separate incidents involving river bathing in the Indian state of Bihar on Monday.
In the Patna district's Bakhtiyarpur block, seven girls from the same family were caught in a strong current while bathing in the Ganga River. Local residents managed to rescue three girls, but four others were swept away. Authorities have recovered two bodies, and search operations by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are ongoing to locate the remaining two individuals.
In a separate incident in the Katihar district, three children drowned in the Kamla River within the Phalka police station limits. Officials reported that while two children were rescued, Aman Kumar (12), Prince Kumar (10), and Satyam Kumar (13) were brought dead to a medical facility.
