Bijendra Gupta identified as mastermind in Maharashtra TET paper leak

Indian police have arrested three suspects—Raju Shav, Akash Kumar and Dheeraj Singh—in connection with the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak. The accused were found with complete question‑paper sets and investigators say the papers were to be sold for about 1.5 crore rupees. Digital devices seized from the suspects are being examined for links to a wider network spanning Maharashtra, Bihar, Haryana and Delhi.

Further investigations have pointed to Bijendra Gupta of Samastipur, Bihar, as the alleged mastermind behind the scheme. Police allege Gupta has long been involved in a nationwide exam‑paper syndicate, and his name surfaced after interrogations of the three arrested suspects. His family says he has not been in contact for four years. Authorities say they are preparing to arrest him while the TET exam has been postponed pending the probe.
