Bike thefts reported in the Netherlands and Germany
In the Netherlands, an e‑bike was stolen from a bike rack during a Friday afternoon event. CCTV footage showed two men arriving in a small black car, opening the lock and riding away with the bike in under a minute. The incident prompted advice on stronger bike security, including GPS trackers and heavy chain locks.
In Eisenberg, Germany, an unattended black electric folding bike (pedelec) worth about €350 was taken from in front of a house between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Police have issued a call for witnesses and provided the case reference ST/0193227/2026.
