Bilawal Bhutto Zardari challenges PML‑N on municipal polls and pledges district tour of Azad Kashmir

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) to immediately hold municipal elections in Islamabad and Punjab, arguing that genuine democracy requires giving voters their local‑government rights. He criticized the long‑standing weak municipal system, noting that successive governments—whether PML‑N, PTI or PPP—have neglected empowered local bodies.

Separately, Bhutto announced he will travel to every district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the region’s upcoming elections. In a meeting with Azad Kashmir’s leadership, he reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to the Kashmir cause and directed party officials to intensify voter outreach and disseminate the party manifesto across the territory.
