Bilawal Bhutto Zardari rallies in Kotli ahead of AJK elections
Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed a large rally at Sikandar Hayat Stadium in Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on July 19. He described Kotli as his political home and praised long‑standing party loyalists such as Chaudhry Yasin for their multigenerational support. Bilawal said the PPP aims to win every seat in Kotli and expressed confidence that the party will form the next government in AJK, highlighting its six‑month tenure in the region and its historic advocacy for the Kashmir cause on international platforms. He noted that rival candidates had lodged a FIR against Javed Badhanvi, accusing the PPP of intimidation, a claim he rejected, and urged voters to back the PPP ticket.
The rally underscored the PPP’s strategy of prioritising loyal workers over new entrants and reflected the party’s broader ambition to strengthen its position in the upcoming AJK elections, while referencing past challenges faced during periods when rival parties held power at the federal level.
