Bilbao and Gijón prepare for major fireworks displays

Major pyrotechnic displays are scheduled for upcoming festivals in Bilbao and Gijón. In Bilbao, the XXXIV Villa de Bilbao International Fireworks Competition will take place from August 22 to 30. Seven pyrotechnic companies from Spain, Europe, and America will compete for Jury and Public awards, with nightly shows starting at 22:30.

In Gijón, the 'Noche de los Fuegos' will feature 20,000 explosions over a 22-minute period. The display, managed by Pirotecnia Zaragozana, will utilize 1,600 kilograms of gunpowder and include new sound effects and sequences. The show will be launched from a single point at Cerro.
