Bilbao and Pizarra host regional gastronomic and tapas routes

Bilbao maintains a strong culinary tradition through the ‘pintxo pote’ ritual held every Thursday. This practice involves a gastronomic route where participants enjoy a small snack (pintxo) paired with a drink, such as wine or a ‘zurito’ (a small glass of beer), at a reduced price. The tradition, which originated in Vitoria-Gasteiz, is deeply rooted in neighborhoods like Casco Viejo, Ledesma, and Deusto, encouraging social movement between different bars.

In Pizarra, the XVIII Ruta de la Tapa y el Cóctel is scheduled from Friday, October 16, to Sunday, October 18. Organized by the local City Council and Fedelhorce, the event features twelve restaurants and seven bars. Offerings include diverse dishes such as stuffed pularda, mini prawn uramaki, and unique sweets like churro-based torrezno. Participants can track their routes and vote for favorites using a digital application via QR codes.
