Bilecik province road upgrade to hot asphalt nears completion

Hot‑asphalt work is progressing on the 10‑kilometre Sarıdayı‑Arapdede village road in Pazaryeri district, Bilecik Province, Turkey. The project, valued at about 34.6 million lira, aims to replace the existing surface with a 6‑metre‑wide, 8‑centimetre‑thick hot‑mix pavement. Six kilometres were finished in earlier years; the remaining four kilometres are being laid with an intensive night shift using 4,350 tonnes of locally produced aggregate and an estimated 4,600 tonnes of asphalt.

Local officials have inspected the works: Kaymakam Muhammet Mustafa Kara reviewed progress, while Governor Faik Oktay Sözer joined a ceremonial start of the final section, pressing the machine’s button alongside 90‑year‑old resident İlyas. Authorities expect completion by 18 July, promising safer, more comfortable, uninterrupted travel for village residents.
