Billy Joel to auction over 70 motorcycles in New York

Musician Billy Joel is auctioning off more than 70 motorcycles from his personal collection through Gooding Christie’s. The sale is scheduled for November 20 and 21, 2026, at the Javits Center during the inaugural Rétromobile New York Auctions.

The collection includes various makes and eras, such as Ducati, BMW, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, and Honda. Notable items include a 1978 Triumph T140 Bonneville, gifted to Joel by Madison Square Garden to commemorate his 150th sold-out concert, and a 1982 Ducati 900 Mike Hailwood Replica. All motorcycles will be sold without reserve.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Joel Foundation, a charity supporting music education and humanitarian causes. The decision to sell the collection follows Joel’s recent health diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a condition affecting balance and cognitive function, which has led him to step back from performing and riding.
