Binational Meeting of Museums begins in Ciudad Juárez

The sixth edition of the Binational Meeting of Museums and Cultural Centers, themed ‘Uniendo Fronteras’ (Uniting Borders), has commenced. Organized by the Red de Museos y Centros Culturales de Ciudad Juárez, the event brings together artists, researchers, academics, and cultural managers to foster exchange and connection.

During the opening session at the Centro Cultural Paso del Norte, artist and specialist Othón Téllez addressed the concept of a fragmented world caused by political borders, migration, inequality, and generational gaps. Téllez proposed that museums should evolve beyond being mere containers for heritage, instead becoming spaces that listen, dialogue, and repair social divisions.

The program includes various activities such as the ‘Negociar el presente’ conference by curator Daril Fortis, a panel titled ‘Ecosistema Frontera: Redes de resistencia cultural’, and the opening of the ‘Rara avis’ graphic exhibition. Events are centered around the Centro Cultural de las Fronteras and Casa Estudio Cui.
