Biobío Mining Ministry seeks academic partnerships for industry development

The Biobío Regional Ministerial Secretary of Mining, Daniel Escobar, has initiated meetings with higher education institutions to strengthen ties between the academic sector and the mining industry. Discussions with leadership from DUOC UC, INACAP, and the Virginio Gómez Professional Institute focused on the future of mining, including critical minerals, the energy transition, and the necessity of specialized technical training.

Escobar emphasized that modern mining encompasses technology, engineering, and human capital, involving interconnected sectors such as transport, energy, and electricity. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between educational communities and the industry through seminars and informative activities to prepare professionals for the opportunities available in the Biobío Region.
