Bioceanic Bridge access works reach 23% progress

Construction of the access roads for the Bioceanic Bridge has reached a 23% global progress rate as of the end of August. The infrastructure is designed to connect Carmelo Peralta with the international crossing over the Paraguay River.

Financed by Itaipú, the project aims to link Paraguay with Brazil and serves as a strategic component of the Bioceanic Corridor, which seeks to connect Atlantic ports with Pacific ports to facilitate the international movement of people and cargo.

Work is currently progressing in both urban and rural areas. In the urban sector, crews are executing rigid pavement on a double avenue and installing drainage infrastructure, including culverts and open channels, to mitigate issues during rainy periods. In rural areas, efforts include piling, foundation work, and soil movement for embankments.
