BioTexCom surrogacy conference relocated in Warsaw following protests

A planned conference by the Ukrainian clinic BioTexCom, intended to promote surrogacy services in Warsaw, has been relocated following social pressure and protests from various organizations. While Polish law does not currently contain an explicit ban on surrogacy, the venue provider, Centrum Żoliborz, refused to rent space to the clinic after being informed of the nature of the business and the associated legal risks by the Life and Family Foundation.

Multiple pro-life organizations, including Human Life International Polska and the Ukrainian foundation ‘O Godność Człowieka’, have issued joint statements opposing commercial surrogacy, arguing it leads to the objectification of women and children. The Ordo Iuris Institute has also launched a petition to the Polish Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General, requesting intervention. Despite the change in venue, BioTexCom has not withdrawn its plans and continues to offer individual consultations.
