BioTexCom surrogacy controversy in Poland

A controversy has emerged regarding Ukrainian surrogacy clinics, such as BioTexCom, offering services to Polish citizens. Under Ukrainian law, birth certificates list only the biological parents, omitting the surrogate mother. When these certificates are transcribed into the Polish civil registry, the Ministry of Interior and Administration stated that civil registry officials do not conduct investigative proceedings or verify the data regarding the mother's identity or the child's origin.

A planned promotional event for BioTexCom in Warsaw, originally intended for September 12–13, has faced significant opposition. Centrum Żoliborz reported that it did not rent a hall to the company and categorically refused cooperation after learning of the firm's activities. The Ordo Iuris Institute, which filed a notification with the prosecutor's office, suggested the event's postponement was due to social and legal protests. Ordo Iuris has raised concerns regarding potential illegal adoption organization and human trafficking, requesting the seizure of documentation related to the planned event.
