Bisceglie launches mosquito control to combat West Nile Virus

The municipality of Bisceglie is conducting a new nocturnal adulticide treatment to combat mosquito proliferation and the spread of the West Nile Virus. The intervention is scheduled to take place across the entire municipal territory from 11:00 PM until 5:00 AM.

This action is part of a broader environmental sanitation plan initiated by the local administration in April, which includes both larvicidal and adulticidal treatments to prevent new outbreaks.

Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed during the operation, avoid leaving food, clothing, or domestic objects outdoors, and ensure the safety of pets. Additional recommendations include bringing in laundry and protecting plants or crops in gardens and orchards. The municipality also emphasizes the importance of citizens eliminating standing water on private property to prevent larval formation, as required by local ordinances.
