Bit Reactor begins recalling staff following Star Wars: Zero Company success

Bit Reactor, the Maryland-based developer of ‘Star Wars: Zero Company’, has begun recalling staff members who were previously placed on unpaid furlough. The studio CEO, Greg Foertsch, described the return of employees as an ‘important step forward’ in providing ongoing support for the game.

Prior to the game's release, the studio reportedly placed approximately 80% of its workforce on unpaid leave due to a depletion of funds, which was linked to a legal dispute between co-founders. Following the commercial success of ‘Star Wars: Zero Company’, which has reportedly sold over one million copies, the studio is now able to reintegrate staff.

While Bit Reactor has not provided specific numbers regarding the return, reports indicate that the studio's paid headcount has recovered to more than half of its pre-furlough size. Some employees remain on unpaid leave as the company continues its recovery process.
