Bitcoin ETFs see $517M daily inflow amid market rally

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $517.2 million in net inflows on Wednesday, marking the largest single-day investment since early May. This surge contributed to August net inflows reaching approximately $1.47 billion. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the activity with $284.7 million in inflows, followed by Ark & 21Shares (ARKB) and Fidelity (FBTC).

The influx coincided with a broader crypto market rally, where Bitcoin approached $72,000 and Ether rose significantly. This movement was accompanied by a massive short squeeze on Binance, where over $311 million in short positions were liquidated within hours, contributing to a global liquidation of more than $1.4 billion in short positions.

Institutional activity remains a key driver. While Bitcoin saw a 14.2% price decline in Q2 2026, institutional ETF holdings actually rose by 7.5% during that period. Major players showed increased interest; JPMorgan grew its IBIT position by roughly 25%, and Jane Street Group increased its IBIT holdings approximately 4.2 times compared to the previous quarter, holding nearly $991.57 million in US-listed Bitcoin spot ETFs as of June 30.
